The background images are of White Sands, New Mexico, in late afternoon. The foreground objects are the spiral staircase at the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, FL, and the class outer shell of the Dali Museum, distorted, of course! The image is meant to convey the various stages in the life of grains of sand, as all items are made from sand, except the curvy stick and perhaps, the metal framework of the museum.
Settling into the sunset of my life, I have returned to the love of imaging that drove me as a teenager. It's been a long journey, through motherhood (3 men and 9 grandchildren), religion, computer science career, and two wonderful marriages. It has emerged into a fuller awareness of the basic love within me, a true awareness of my real self, a spiritual awakening, and a desire to splurge with color and form, through the adventure of photography and digital imaging. I wish to express and share my appreciation for the art that is the world, through the use of focused expression in a direct image of the beauty in the world to the visual poetry of abstract impressionism through digital art.
