This skeleton of a robot hangs from a tree at Fort Apache near Supply, NC. Fort Apache is an eclectic collection of discards, which has become a local attraction because of the fascinating arrangements of junk and novelties covering a very large area! I 'broke' the robot skeleton into two pieces, following the cracks in a photo of rust at Fort Apache. Then I colored each section differently.
Settling into the sunset of my life, I have returned to the love of imaging that drove me as a teenager. It's been a long journey, through motherhood (3 men and 9 grandchildren), religion, computer science career, and two wonderful marriages. It has emerged into a fuller awareness of the basic love within me, a true awareness of my real self, a spiritual awakening, and a desire to splurge with color and form, through the adventure of photography and digital imaging. I wish to express and share my appreciation for the art that is the world, through the use of focused expression in a direct image of the beauty in the world to the visual poetry of abstract impressionism through digital art.
